Amanda Holley2007 none I graduated with Honors from Yavapai College with my Associate of Applied Science in Management in 2009. I am now working on a Bachelor of Science in Global Security and Intelligence Studies at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Kayla Mueller2007 none My first year at NAU I was a journalist for the school newspaper and I enjoyed it but it helped me decide that my love for writing was probably not best followed by selling my stories to a printing press. I could, however, see myself writing for a paper, magazine or other place of that nature in the future as a side job. I have also continued my Darfur advocacy and have been president of STAND: NAU. STAND is an international, student-led, anti-genocide coalition. NAU sent me to DC last semester for an international conference for STAND and the Save Darfur Coalition where I gained many connections, knowledge, inspiration and also met many important leaders in the fight against genocide. The Obama Campaign also become a very large part of my life. My roommate and I campaigned from the primaries till the very end of the race and by the time it was all said and done we had been paid interns and I had campaigned in 4 different states. It was more educational (by far) then any of my POS classes combined and the human element and experience that I gained in all sorts of different aspects of politics and campaigns and teamwork was also beyond compare to anything else. I feel so blessed to have experienced all these things. For the last week of the campaign I was able to fly to North East Philadelphia for free and campaign for that final push. I would have to write you a book just to describe what happened in the city after Obama won, it was incredible. Anyway, the campaign took up a lot of time but it was the best educational experience I could ask for and I suppose it will look good on a resume as well.
